Speak Easy Assoc of WA - $14259.34Many barriers are encountered during the life of a person who stutters including school, higher education, employment and promotion, social interaction and acceptance within the community. Speak Easy will develop a set of advocacy resources around stuttering, that will help PWS. These resources include information for employers, teachers, parents, teenagers who stutter and information for PWS. The resources will be developed after extensive consultation and focus group discussions with various stakeholders. South West ACCESS Network Inc - $7705.00DeafLink Family Camp will be a weekend for deaf or hard of hearing children, and their families. While the children participate in activities, their parents can attend information sessions. The aim is for children and families to have an enjoyable time and to understand that "It's OK to be Deaf"! Queensland Deaf Society - $9000.00In 2003, the Qld Deaf Society will celebrate its centenary. One hundred years of history! As part of the celebrations, the society aims to document, record and display the achievements and events of the local Deaf community, in conjunction with the development of QDS over the past 100 years. An integral part of the project will be the compiling of a pictorial history, comprising both a photographic display and a video history. Cerebral Palsy League of Qld - $9,700.00Camp Have a Chat seeks to bring together Queensland youth who are learning to communicate with symbols and/or voice output communication devices. An experience of dramatic and visual arts provides the opportunity to explore creativity, personality and motivation to communicate alternatively. Deaf Society of New South Wales - $4667.00The group will meet for five sessions and will include therapeutic counselling for individuals with specific sessions on family and relationships including partners/families, practical support and advice on living with Usher Syndrome, language/communication, interpreting, technical aids and equipment, the emotional and social impact of life with low or no vision and identification/ belonging with the wider Deaf community. Queensland Association of the Deaf - $4,667To promote and market Queensland Association of the Deaf to persons within the Deaf and wider communities as an advocacy and representative service in accordance with our strategy plan and in a contemporary manner.
