How ACE CapTel works

A captioned phone works the same as any other phone with one important difference ... a captioned phone displays every word the caller says throughout the entire conversation. 

The written captions show up almost at the same time someone speaks (just like captioned television).

With ACE CapTel you can:

• use your own voice to talk on the phone
• read what the caller is saying using the written captions on the captioned telephone display window.

ACE partnering with National Seniors Australia

ACE is working in conjunction with National Seniors Australia to find participants to trial this technology. Click here if you would like to take part.  Hearing loss is particularly significant for over 50 years olds which is why ACE has the support of National Seniors for this pilot. ACE and NSA will also work on further research to measure the impact of hearing loss and to identify effective responses.
